JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) The area code 582 will be joining 814 next year, requiring callers to start 10-digit dialing, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission announced. Officials say the 582 area code will be assigned to new phone numbers once the current supply of 814 area codes are exhausted.
