Laurel Highlands Mopar Car Club is back with Cruisin' the Flood City for the 14th year

Cars lined up along Main St. on Saturday to showcase some of the best automotive wonders from the local area.

But this is no regular car show, the organizers, The Laurel Highlands Mopar Club, aim to not only show their cars but to also support a great cause. Each year they have been donating the proceeds of the event to the great Johnstown YWCA and drive up business for the local shops and restaurants.

"We have the beautiful downtown area," said Paul Veney Sr., President of the Laurel Highlands Mopar Club. "We like to support the downtown restaurants, and we encourage people to eat there and shop in local downtown stores.”

Since the start of the event 14 years ago, The Greater Johnstown YWCA has been the recipient of the fundraiser.

“It’s really wonderful because the community supports us as well as Mopar," said Diane Lopez, President of the YWCA of Greater Johnstown. "We use those funds for various programs over the years and this year we’re using it for some internal programming and interior repairs that we have going on.”

If you want to see the Laurel Highlands Mopar Car Club in action you can do so on September 10th at the 13th Annual Johnstown Super Cruise or at the Cruisin' for a Cause on September 25th.
