CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Centre County is getting a new school.
On Monday night, the State College Area School District school board approved a site for the new Park Forest Middle School.
The district was faced with multiple options.
They say renovating the current school along Valley Vista Drive would have been extensive work.
The school board voted to move forward with their "site 2" option, which is building a new school across the street from the current building.
School board members previously said a new school could be close to $100 million.
A timeline for the project is still unknown.
