MARTINSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — The Hollidaysburg American Legion Ambulance Service is holding its second annual Emergency Awareness Day this weekend.
The event features music, family friendly activities and several educational resources. It raises money for the purchase of new equipment that benefits the ambulance service.
Multiple emergency management services will be on hand to educate people about general safety procedures.
Legion member Jonathan Rea says the group hopes to increase the event's exposure, as it helps both the community and emergency service personnel get to know each other.
“All the proceeds benefit our new equipment fund to either purchase new updated equipment or update the equipment we have, to make sure we can provide better care to our communities,” says Rea.
If you want to attend, it takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. at Memorial Park in Martinsburg.
