Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Clearfield County say a DuBois man is behind bars after he admitted to sending sexually explicit messages to someone whom he believed to be a teenage girl.
Investigators say police were contacted on Wednesday by the online group "814 Pred Hunters," who reportedly provided officers with a binder containing copies of the messages between the supposed "teen" and 30-year-old Ryan Sprague.
Police noted that as Sprague was taken into custody, he stated, "I can't believe I did this."
According to the affidavit, police say Sprague admitted to sending all of the sexually explicit messages despite being aware that the person he was sending them to was allegedly a 15-year-old girl.
Online court records show that Sprague was arraigned Thursday on various charges, including statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault and corruption of minors.
He is being housed at the Clearfield County Jail on $100,000 bail.
