As the 2023 MLB trade deadline draws to a close, multiple reports are indicating that the Pittsburgh Pirates are finalizing a deal to send infielder Rodolfo Castro to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Reports indicate that Pittsburgh will receive left-handed pitcher Bailey Falter in return.

Castro signed with the Pirates as an international free agent in 2015 and was added to the team's roster in 2020.

He made his MLB debut in April of 2021 and has appeared in 180 career games, over three seasons.

Castro has 22 career homeruns, 57 RBIs and a .226 career batting average.

Falter, meanwhile, was drafted by the Phillies in 2015 and was also promoted to the majors in April of 2021.

He has an 8-12 career win/loss record, over three seasons, in 24 career starts, with a 4.56 ERA.
